  • Wendy Chen

    Wendy comes from an ethnically Chinese family, but was born and raised in South Korea, and immigrated to the United States as a child. She serves on the executive team for Cru City and has been on staff for 16 years; 6 of those with the Epic Movement. Wendy longs to see a generation of young women who will reject shame and know their true identity as image bearers of God. She loves nothing more than a table full of people she deeply loves, filled with good food and laughter. She currently resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband, Josh, and their four children.

  • Joel Sommer

    Joel, is an urban contemplative, pastor, spiritual director,  and DEI trainer. His Filipina immigrant mother and Jewish-German American father raised him with a lively sense of God’s loving presence that led him to seek Jesus in diverse settings. He loves indie hip-hop, spoken word poetry, silent retreats, and sitcoms that center BIPOC. He currently serves as a Pastor with Access Church in SE Portland. His wife Sabrina is an anti-racist educator and together they have three sons who amaze them daily.

  • Jonathon Murillo

    Jonathon is the Director of Strategy & Content at Ignite Institute. His mission is to guide leaders into moments of epiphany and meaningful response. Jonathon has a background working in social enterprises, non-profits, and Christian organizations. He says, “I stand on the shoulders of innovators, immigrants, and creators who have gone before me—from my familia, cultural, and spiritual heritages.”

    Currently, he lives in Oregon with his wife, Cyndi, and their two children, Bella and Luca.
